Colour wash from Tim Holz and clear foil.
Wet the page, spray it with water spray. Then spray 3-4 colours of Tim Holz colour wash until you like what you see. Drop a few drops of coloured alcohol ink on to the page. Lay clear foil on the page and scrunch it until you get the design you like. let it dry thoroughly and then remove the foil.

Er is een kaas op de markt waarvan de zijkanten al losgesneden zijn. Van Maaslander.
Harstikke handig. Ook inkepingen alvast voorgesneden zodat je weet hoe groot een reep is om stukjes kaas voor een plateau te snijden.
Het is handig en de kaas is erg lekker.

Maaslander cheese has developed a new way of removing the plastic rinds off a large piece of cheese. It is preloosened at the sides and all you have to do is push the rind off. Easy peasy. Also sectioned cuts show exactly where you need to cut your cheese to get those lovely cubes of cheese that you find at birthday parties.
This cheese with the precut rind is especially handy for people with R.A and arthritis. I think this cheese is only available on the dutch market so you will have to imagine what it is like.

creativity lost and found

I haven't done much creative art the last weeks, need a holiday and had no ideas. However, I still had a charm swap to do by the end of this month. I found a domino tile I did a long time ago, made some shapes from silver wire and did some soldering. Added beads and made a card. Hope the person I made it for likes it.

I still have a swap to do three 10x10 cm steampunk cards. It is the first time I have tackled this and although I love seeing steampunk I am having difficulty in producing one. I have finished a digital one, which still needs to be embellished with metal objects, hopefully when I have printed it out, the inspiration will flow. I have put this together will different elements and images purchased from K-joi studios and Scrapbookgraphics.

Creative evening at work

Last night I held a creative evening at my work. I had no idea if the colleagues coming had any experience with making cards etc. So I chose a card which we could make with guidance.
Sixteen people including me turned up, and we had a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Everybody went home with a finished card, and every one was different.
This is my card. I forgot to take pictures, but will be giving another evening hopefully.

Crowabout dreams on paper book

Last year I followed a course with Nancy Baumiller from Crowabout. After the course twelve of the participants decided to each make 1 page depicting what we had learned in nancy's class. We decided to use the theme dreams on paper.
We all sent 12 copies of our page to Suzi who kindly bound the books for us and posted them.It arrived today. And its absolutely fabulous. What a great combined effort we all made. Each artist has her own style and this little book will become a keepsake to all of us. The designs are superb, and what I particulary like is the added embellishment in the centre of the book.
I have posted pics on here for you all to see. Enjoy.

I am to make 3 cards above size for a dutch swap, theme is Alice in Wonderland. Background Images are from Art Caravan, main images are free sheets from Flickr. I added clear printed sheet, a dial from Ranger and a small piece of film sstrip from Tim Holtz. Super to use.

Tonight I had to sit down and do this collage. I had no peace till I had on paper what had to be. It shows the light emerging and I am pleased with this, although it isn't a great piece it tells me enough.

The words say: out of the darkness came the light, pushing itself forward, not waiting to see if this could be so.
The girl is golden and the background behind her is red poppies. The darkness doesn't do it justice. There are bubble letters saying emerging.

I used free images from Flickr, added, bits and bobs, used pen to outline bits, added a button frame with a small picture of lover, and finished the whole thing off with copper wire. lefthand corner book page opens up and has number 4 on it.
Second card used image and a clothing tag, which was black, added some flowers. They are different but I like them both.

I saw a challenge to use a drawn picture and create some vintage collaged image. At first I just coloured the image, but then found it was lacking, so I stamped and added some pictures and ephemera. I am pleased with the result I have achieved.

At Christmas one always contemplates. I count myself lucky for what I have and what I don't have. I knew I wanted to do something with stars and the dancer.
